Why Choose Handwriting Coaching?

Research has shown that handwriting can influence a student’s reading, writing, language, and critical thinking skills! This program is designed to teach proper grip as well as strategies for letter formation, spacing, neatness, and cursive connections. Designed to develop both printing and cursive skills, this program provides an effective way to gain penmanship proficiency. If you think your child needs to improve legibility or neatness or simply wants to learn cursive handwriting, this program is for them.

Program Format

Crania’s Flex Handwriting program is offered year-round in a small group setting, with each student working at their own pace. Within a nurturing and encouraging environment, students engage in lessons, activities and handwriting practice. The distribution of these activities is individualized to each student’s needs. Lessons are in 55-min slots. Parents choose what day and time they would like their child to attend during our operating hours, five days a week, commencing on the half-hour. All lessons must be scheduled in advanced, but days and times can be changed from week to week. Work to practice with at home is always available and recommended. Students complete regular assessments and frequent feedback is provided to parents.

Focus on Confident Skill-Building

Careful attention is paid on students to ensure they are learning the skills in an efficient manner. Exercises are designed to progress learning in a step-by-step manner as your child’s confidence continues to grow. Students are encouraged to set aside some time at home to continue practicing, while maintaining a positive attitude towards handwriting!

Interactive & Fun

The Flex Handwriting lessons are taught in an interactive and engaging way. Games, board work and manipulatives, in addition to pencil and paper practice, are incorporated into the program to enhance enjoyment and learning.

Small Group Sizes

Small group sizes are maintained in our Flex programs. This allows each student to receive the individual attention they need. There is always an energetic and passionate instructor nearby in our well-staffed classrooms.
