Terms of Service

Payment Terms
Payment is processed by credit/debit card upon registration including the registration fee, materials fee and the first month’s program fee. Subsequent program fees are processed by credit/debit card on the monthly anniversary of the registration date every month thereafter until a cancellation request with sufficient notice is received in writing. If a promotion was applied to the program fees for the first three months, the fourth payment will revert to the full program fee less any pre-approved discounts.

Membership Cancellation Terms
Memberships can be cancelled at any time within the first two weeks for a refund of unused, prorated lesson fees. After the first two weeks, memberships can be cancelled at any time after the minimum 3 month commitment with a minimum of 1 full calendar month’s notice prior to the next payment date. Registration fees and material fees are non-refundable.

Uniform and Cleanliness Policy
Students are required to wear their Crania shirt while attending classes at the Crania Center (“Center”). Students are expected to adhere to a basic standard of cleanliness and hygiene while attending classes. Students are expected to wash their hands prior to each session at the Center in order to help maintain cleanliness of materials and equipment at the Center.

Behavior Policy
Students may be refused admission where they are found to be in violation of the Behavior Policy. In order to ensure that each student receives the maximum learning experience during each visit, the following Center rules have been established:

STUDENTS:

  • No food and/or drink inside the classrooms
  • No cell phone use, photography or videography in any part of the center
  • Speak in a quiet, respectful tone at all times
  • Treat all students, staff and the instructors in a respectful manner
  • Respect the belongings of others
  • Clean up after yourself
  • Be considerate of the right of others to learn
  • Discuss any concerns, little or big, that you are having, with the instructor and/or the Center Director
  • Give your best effort to each task

PARENTS:

Communication with parents is extremely important to us. Please schedule a time to speak to our instructors or the Center Director outside of regular teaching hours. If, at any time, you would like to discuss your child’s progress, please call the Center Director, at 519-781-8810.

Parents, please wait for your child outside of the main classroom. Center hours are focused on the students. Use a quiet, classroom voice while in the Parent waiting area. Communicate any concerns you are having with the Instructor and/or the Center Director outside of class hours.

Flex Scheduling & Cancellation Terms
Lesson times can be scheduled at any time during our FLEX hours, must be a minimum duration of 55 minutes and must be scheduled at least 2 full business days in advance, by email, by phone or in person. Unused monthly hours are not carried over to future months except for December and March with hours carried over to February and April, respectively.

Sessions may be cancelled up to 2 full business days in advance for any reason and without penalty. Sessions cancelled less than 2 full business days in advance are considered to be forfeited. In case of illness, notice must be received before 12 pm on the day of the session if the session is on Monday to Friday, or by 7 pm the previous evening if the session is on Saturday. Sessions cancelled due to illness must be made up within 2 weeks.

Regularly Scheduled Classes
Missed regularly scheduled classes may be made up in the same week provided there is space available in other regularly scheduled classes of the same type. At least
2 full business days notice must be provided for rescheduled classes.

Piano Lessons
Lesson times must be scheduled at a regular recurring time during our operating hours and must be determined at the time of registration. Notice for missed classes must be received at least 48 hours in advance by email, by phone or in person. Missed classes can be made up at a time that is mutually convenient for the student and teacher. A maximum of 2 lessons can be made up in a given school year.

Sessions cancelled less than 48 hours in advance are considered to be forfeited.

 

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective August 9th, 2017.

Crania Schools (“We”) is a registered Corporation in the Province of Ontario. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) states how we endeavor to protect the privacy of your personal information that we obtain from your use of this website (“Site”). If there is any part of this Privacy Policy you are not in agreement with, you should not use or visit this Site.

While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, postal address and phone number (“Personal Information”).

By providing your personal information, you are consenting to its collection, use and disclosure according to this Privacy Policy.

Cookies:
A cookie is a small data file that a website can place on your computer for record-keeping, administration or to provide you a unique browsing experience.

We may use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

Log Data:
Log data may be automatically reported by your browser each time you make a request to access or visit a web page. When you access this Site, our servers may automatically record some or all of this information.

Directly Provided Data:
You may choose to give us your information by filling out a web form on our Site.

Use of Data:
We may use your Personal Information to contact you in order to provide information requested by you, for operational purposes and/or for marketing purposes including sending you newsletters, other marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of such marketing communications from us by using the unsubscribe instructions provided in all correspondence from us.

Sharing of Data:
We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of this Site.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Information may be transferred.

We will not sell, trade or transfer your information to third parties outside Crania Schools (or any group of companies of which We may be a part) without your consent, except as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Image and Video Policy:
From time to time, photos of the students and staff are taken at the Center. These are sometimes used in publications on our website and other marketing materials. No personal information will ever be posted.

Security:
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, however no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is completely secure. We will strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, however, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Limitations:
This Site may link to other third party sites, however, we have no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party sites or services.

Privacy of Children:
This Site does not knowingly collect, solicit or maintain information provided by children under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as soon as possible.

Changes to this Privacy Policy:
We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Site with its effective date identified. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of this Site after any modification to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such modification.

Parental Consent, Release and Waiver of Liability,
Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement

My minor child, is registering as a student in an Educational Program (hereinafter “Program”) that is coordinated by Crania Schools (hereinafter “Crania Schools”). The Minor has my consent to attend. I understand the nature and requirements of the Program. With that understanding, it is my judgment that the Minor is qualified and able to participate in the Program. I acknowledge that the Minor’s participation in the Program is voluntary. Due to the age of the Minor, Crania Schools requires that this Agreement be executed by me in consideration of the Minor’s being permitted to enroll in the Program. I agree to and acknowledge the following:
(1) I am the Minor’s parent or legal guardian.
(2) I agree to drop the Minor off just prior to the start of the Program period and will pick up the Minor immediately following the
end of the Program period. I understand that neither the Instructors, any other student nor any administrator or employee of Crania
Schools shall be responsible for supervision of the Minor both before and after the Program times.
(3) I agree that the Minor will abide by all of the rules and regulations and, if found in violation, may be removed from the Program
either temporarily or permanently. I understand that Crania Schools may withdraw the Minor’s participation if these programs are
disrupted or altered in any way by the Minor’s behavior. I further agree that as a parent or guardian of the Minor, I take full
responsibility for the behavior and conduct of the Minor and any consequences resulting from his or her actions.
(4) I agree that the Minor may be photographed, audio or videotaped by Crania Schools. I agree that photographic image(s)
and information that correspond with the photographic image(s) may be disseminated for any public usage by Crania Schools.
(5) As parent of the Minor, I understand that there are safety risks associated with the Minor’s participation in programs and
activities designed for children. I acknowledge and agree that I have had the opportunity to ask questions of Crania Schools
officials concerning these matters, and all questions have been answered to our satisfaction.
(6) On behalf of ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, I waive and release forever any and all rights for claims and
damages I may have against Crania Schools (both individually and jointly), their trustees, officers, employees, and agents in any
manner due to any personal injury or property loss sustained as the result of the Minor’s participation in the Program. I
hereby indemnify and hold harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, judgments, losses and expenses, including,
but not limited to, attorneys’ fees for personal injury or death to the Minor or damage to the Minor’s property during the Program
period arising out of or resulting from the negligent or wrongful acts or omissions of Crania Schools, and their employees and
agents with the exception of gross or willful misconduct.
(7) I agree that should there be disagreements or problems with the implementation of this agreement, the laws of Ontario will
govern any resolution. I further agree that should litigation or grievances result, the forum for any lawsuit, hearing or
adjudication shall be in Ontario.
(8) As parent of the Minor, we agree that I will promptly communicate any problems or issues associated with the Minor’s
participation in the Program with officials from Crania Schools. I further agree that I will promptly report and disclose to
officials from Crania Schools all pertinent information concerning the Minor’s ability to participate successfully in the Program.
